Trekking Queropalca Huayhuash

A 6-day adventure filled with some of the greatest sceneries in the Cordillera Blanca; passing by an inca archeological site on day 1, beautiful lakes and various passes going up to 4750m/15580ft.

Day 1: Huaraz – Huanucopampa – Queropalca (3800m/12464ft)

After breakfast in the hotel, you will board our private bus, and start a 6 to 7-hour journey, passing by small villages such as: Recuay, Ticapampa, Catac, Conococha, Pachapaqui, Huanzala, Huallanca and finally arriving to the inca ruins of Huanucopampa. We will have a 1h lunch break at this arquelogical site, and then continue the travel to our first camp, Queropalca. Overnight camping at 3800m/12464ft.

Day 2: Queropalca – Carhuacocha (4138m/13572ft)

After breakfast, at 8am, we will start a 4-5h hike to Carhuacocha. There we will have lunch and set up the camp; enjoying the great views over the mountains of Yerupaja, Siula and Ninashanca, as well as the beautiful color of lake Carhuacocha. Overnight camping at 4138m/13572ft.

Day 3: Carhuacocha – Carhuac Pass (4650m/15252ft) – Mitucocha (4100m/13448ft)

After breakfast, we will hike up for about 3h to Carhuac Pass (4650m/15252ft). There we will enjoy the great views over the peaks of Ninashanca and Jirishanca. After lunch, we will hike down for about 1h to reach Mitucocha. Overnight camping at 4100m/13448ft.

Day 4: Mitucocha – Cacanan Pass (4700m/15416ft) –Rondoy (4200m/13776ft)

After breakfast, at 8am, we will hike up for about 3h to Cacanan Pass (4700m/15416ft). There we will enjoy breathtaking views over Ninashanca Mount (south side). After lunch, we will hike down for about 3h to Rondoy. Overnight camping at 4200m/13776ft.

Day 5: Rondoy – Sambuya Pass (4750m/15580ft) – Jahuacocha (4066m/13336ft)

After breakfast, at 8:30am, we will hike up for about 4h30 to Sambunya Pass (4750m/15580ft). There we will have great views over the mountains of: Jirishanca, Ninashanca, Yerupaja, Siula, and Carnicero (among others). After lunch, we will hike down for about 3h to Jahuacocha. Overnight camping at 4066m/13336ft.

Day 6: Jahuacocha – Pampallamac Pass (4300m/14104ft) - Llamac –Huaraz

After breakfast, we will hike on a flat section for 1h, then up for about 1h30 to reach Pampallamac Pass (4300m/14104ft). There we will enjoy great views over the mountains of: Yerupaja, Ninashanca, Siula and Diablo Mudo. Then, we will hike down for about 1h30 to reach Llamac, where our bus will be waiting for us. After about 3h, we will be back in Huaraz
