Climbing Urus 5497m, Ishinca 5550m + Tocllaraju 6035m & Artesonraju 6025m
A combined 13-day expedition that will take you to four of the most beautiful peaks of the Cordillera Blanca: Urus (5,497m/18,030ft), Ishinca (5,550m/18,208ft), Tocllaraju (6,035m/19,799ft) and Artesonraju (6,025m/19,767ft).

Day 01: Huaraz – Collon – Ishinca Base Camp (4,300m/14,107ft)
After breakfast in the hotel, at 7am, you will board our private bus, heading north of Huaraz to Paltay, and then up to Pashpa (3670m) and Collon; about 1h drive. There the donkey drivers will be waiting for us. We will start our 5-6h hike, passing by the Huascaran National Park control, where you will register. We will reach the camp of Ishinca in the afternoon. We will check our climbing equipment for the next day, and get some good rest. Overnight camping at 4300m
Day 02: Base Camp – Climbing Urus Summit (5,497m/18,030ft) – Base Camp
We will have an early breakfast and start our ascent at 4am. After about 2h, we will reach the glacier and start a 3h climb to reach the summit of Urus (5497m). We will enjoy breathtaking views over the mountains of Tocllaraju, Akilpo, Copa, Ranrapalca, and Ishinca (among others). Then we will start our descent. It will take us about 1h30 to reach the Moraine camp, and an extra 2h to reach Base Camp, arriving around 3pm. Overnight camping at 4300m.
Day 03: Base Camp – Summit Ishinca (5,550m/18,208ft)– Base Camp
We will have an early breakfast, around 3am, then start hiking at 3.30am to the glacier. After about 2h, we will arrive at the foot of the glacier and equip ourselves with our climbing gear. The climb up to the summit will take us about 3h. There at 5550m, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the mountain peaks around (Tocllaraju, Akilpo, Copa, Ranrapalca, among others), the valley and its lakes. We will then head back down. After about 2h, we will get to Moraine camp and then continue to Base Camp, arriving around 4:30pm. Overnight camping at 4300m.
Day 04: Base Camp – Rest day
Today you will enjoy a well-deserved free day around base camp, to get some rest and prepare yourself for the rest of our adventure.
Day 05: Base Camp – Morreina Camp of Tocllaraju (5,000m/16,400ft)
We will enjoy a free morning at the camp, and get ready to leave after lunch at 12pm. We will start our 2h ascent up to the glacier, where we will equip ourselves with our climbing gear. We will climb up to the Morreina Camp of Tocllaraju. Overnight camping at 5000m.
Day 06: Morreina Camp – Summit Tocllaraju (6,035m/19,794ft) – down to Base Camp
After breakfast, we will climb for about 5h to get to the summit of Tocclaraju at 6035m. We will enjoy breathtaking views over the surrounding peaks of Huascaran, Santa Cruz, and Ranrapalca (among others). We will then start our way back, passing by Morreina Camp and continuing down to Base Camp where we will spend the night. Overnight camping at 4300m.
Day 07: Base Camp – Pashpa – Huaraz
After breakfast at 8am, we will continue our way back down. We will have lunch on the way. Pass by the park control again. It will take us about 3h30 to reach Pashpa, where our private transfer will be waiting for us. Estimated arrival time in Huaraz: 3pm.
Day 08: Rest day in Huaraz – Preparation for the next expedition
Day 9: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral (3,760m/12,332ft)
After breakfast in the hotel, you will board our private bus, and drive along the Callejon de Huaylas, north of Huaraz. Passing by different districts including: Carhuas (2650m), Yungay (2500m), Caraz city (2250m). We will arrive at Cashapampa around 10am. There, the donkey driver will be waiting for us. Once all the camping equipment geared, we will start hiking up. After about 2h30, we will have lunch. We will continue hiking for 5 to 6h, all the way up to our first camp “Llamacorral”, arriving around 4pm. Overnight camping at 3760m
Day 10: Llamacorral – Jatuncocha Lake – Taullipampa (4,250m/13,940ft)
Today we will hike in the valley, passing by the turquoise lakes of Ichiccocha and Jatuncocha. We will stop for lunch at the beautiful site of Quisuar. We will then climb up to the Alpamayo Base Camp where we will have a break, and then head further to Taullipampa Base Camp. We will get there early and prepare our climbing gear for the next day. Overnight at 4250m.
Day 11: Taullipampa – Moraine Camp – Camp 1 of Artesonraju (4,950m/16,236ft)
After breakfast, we will climb up for about 5-6 hours up to Camp 1 of Artesonraju. We will enjoy some hot drinks, pitch our tents, check our climbing gear for the next day, and have an early dinner to properly rest for the next day’s early start. Overnight at 5200m.
Day 12: Camp 1 of Artesonraju – Summit Artesonraju (6,025m/19,762ft) – Taullipampa
We will have a very early breakfast, at 1am. We will start climbing up around 1:30am for about 6-7h to the Artesonraju summit (6025m/19762ft). Along the way up, we will find ice walls about 50 to 80°. After a hard climb to the summit, we will enjoy breathtaking views over the mountains like Piramide de Garcilaso, Caraz, Taulliraju, Pucajirca, Alpamayo, Quitaraju and many more. We will then safely come down rappelling with the help of our guide. We will walk back down and take a break at Camp 1, pick up our tents and continue our way back to Taullipampa Camp for about 4-5h. Overnight at 4200m.
Day 13: Taullipampa – Cashapampa – Huaraz
We will walk back down along the Santa Cruz valley, enjoying one more time the great views of the Jatuncocha and Ichiccocha lakes. Arriving at Cashapampa, where our driver will be waiting for us. We will have a last stop for lunch, and then drive back to Huaraz, arriving around 4-5pm.
